Villa Park Master Bath Remodel
Overview
The Villa Park Master Bath project focused on transforming an outdated bathroom into a modern and functional space. The client desired a contemporary upgrade, particularly replacing the existing tub with a freestanding model.
Project Goals
- Replace Tub: Remove the old tub and install a new freestanding tub.
- Modernize Design: Use contemporary textured white tiles to create a new tub surround.
- Functional Enhancements: Add a niche for soaps and a multifunctional box seat/stand for convenience.
Design and Implementation
- Demolition and Construction: The old tub and its surround were demolished. Plumbing was relocated to accommodate the new tub position.
- Tile and Grout: Client-owned tiles were used to fill demoed spaces. The bathroom floor grout was changed to a lighter color for a refreshed look.
- Wall Repair and Painting: Damaged walls were patched and painted, ensuring a seamless blend by painting the entire wall from top to bottom.
Challenges
- Plumbing: Significant changes were required to relocate plumbing for the freestanding tub.
- Dust and Cleanup: Demolition created substantial dust, necessitating a thorough deep clean of the entire bathroom.
Outcome
The client was delighted with the transformation, achieving a modern and comfortable master bath. The successful completion of this project brought the client’s vision to life.
