Savhadria Kitchen Remodel

Overview

The Savhadria Kitchen project involved a comprehensive remodel of a residential kitchen located in Silverado Canyon, California. The home, designed in the Spanish colonial style, required a kitchen that harmonized with its architectural theme.

Project Goals

  • Add a Window: Install a new window on the left side of the range wall.
  • Optimize Layout: Center the range on the back wall to align with the island and sink, ensuring an efficient working triangle.
  • Aesthetic Harmony: Integrate design elements that reflect the Spanish colonial style throughout the kitchen.

Design and Materials

  • Cabinetry: Initially, green cabinets were considered, but to avoid overwhelming the space, a mix of white cabinets with a wood-colored island was chosen. Semi-custom cabinets were selected for their durability and warranty, suitable for the home’s high ceilings.
  • Countertops: After exploring various options, a porcelain slab was selected for its color and veining, complementing the cabinetry and island.
  • Wall Color: Sherwin Williams Pacer White was used to maintain a light and cohesive look throughout the kitchen and home.
  • Lighting: Upper cabinets with glass and lighting were added, along with under-cabinet lighting, enhancing both functionality and aesthetics.

Challenges

  • The project began with a fully demoed kitchen, requiring careful planning to ensure continuity in design and function.
  • Material and color selections took several months, extending the kitchen’s unavailability to over three months.

Recommendations

For future projects, it is advised to finalize material and color decisions and have cabinetry ready for installation before starting demolition to minimize disruption.

Future Plans

The client intends to continue renovating other parts of their home, including the master bathroom, additional bathrooms, and bedrooms.
