Overview
Project Goals
- Relocate the range to the opposite wall to improve the kitchen’s layout
- Remove the existing peninsula and replace it with an island
- Keep clear circulation around the island for comfort and practical access
- Update finishes with new flooring and paint selections that fit the home
Design and Implementation
Layout / Structural Changes
The kitchen layout was redesigned by moving the range across the room to the opposite wall, creating a more balanced and efficient cooking zone. We also removed the peninsula to open up the space and replace it with an island.
The island size was intentionally kept compact, since the client needed enough clearance to comfortably walk around it and allow appliances to be moved in and out when needed. The final island size supported those requirements while still providing the benefits of an island layout.

- Flooring material selection

Challenges
Island sizing and clearance: The island needed to remain small enough to keep walkways clear and allow appliances to be moved through the space. This was handled through careful spacing and layout planning, resulting in an island that fit the kitchen comfortably.
Outcome
The remodel created a kitchen that feels more open and functional, with a layout that works better for daily use. The range relocation and peninsula removal made the space easier to move through, and the new island fit the client’s needs without compromising circulation. With updated paint and flooring selections and full project management support through installation, the client was happy with both the island size and the final result.
