Becker Kitchen Remodel
Overview
The Becker Kitchen project involved updating and remodeling a kitchen to create a refreshed, modern look. Located in Huntington Beach, the home has a traditional, beachy cottage style.
Project Goals
- Update Cabinets: Install new RTA white shaker cabinets for a refreshed appearance.
- Open Space: Modify walls for improved flow, including widening entries and opening the wall to the dining room.
- Enhance Functionality: Increase kitchen workspace and storage.
Design and Implementation
Cabinetry: Chose ready-to-assemble cabinets for their aesthetic appeal without prioritizing longevity or warranty.
Layout Changes:
- Moved the range and adjusted the kitchen layout by repositioning the peninsula to create an eat-at bar.
- Added shallow pantry space and open cabinetry with a natural wood look for decor display.
Materials:
- Used quartzite for countertops, valued for durability and its subtle green tint.
- Coordinated with a neutral backsplash.
Flooring: Maintained existing flooring, utilizing stored wood to accommodate layout changes.
Outcome
The project met the client’s deadline, completing within three months. The remodel enhanced the kitchen’s functionality and aligned with the home’s traditional, cottage-style aesthetic.
